Privacy Policy

Decidd is a personal decision-making app operated by Jakob Leve Stumpenhausen (sole proprietor). This policy explains what happens to your data, both on this website and in the app. In short: your decisions stay with you, we run no analytics or ads, and we never sell your data.

This website (deciddapp.com)

The website is a static landing page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical connection data (such as your IP address) to deliver the site and for security; this is necessary for operating the website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

If you enter your email address in the “Notify me at launch” form, we store that address to send you a single notification when Decidd launches, and then for related launch updates. The address is stored in Cloudflare KV and processed on the basis of your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing mail@jakobleve.com, and we will delete your address. We use no advertising or third-party tracking, and the site sets no tracking cookies.

What Decidd stores, and where

The decisions you create (your question, options, criteria, ratings and results) are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Decidd, this data also syncs to your private iCloud account so it survives reinstalling the app and stays in sync across your devices. iCloud is operated by Apple under your own account, and we have no access to it and cannot read your synced data.

AI suggestions and explanations

When you use the optional AI features (suggested options/criteria, or the explanation of a result), the relevant text (your decision question, the option and criteria titles, and the computed ranking) is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing endpoint hosted on Cloudflare Workers, which forwards it to Anthropic (Claude API) to generate the response. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models and retains it only briefly for abuse monitoring. Our endpoint does not store your content. You can use Decidd fully without the AI features; the manual flow never sends your data anywhere.

Voice input

If you use “Speak it” to dictate your decision, audio is processed by Apple’s speech recognition to transcribe it into text, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We only receive the resulting text.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process the limited data above to provide the functionality you request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)), and we process your email signup on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Sending text to the AI features happens only when you actively use them.

Retention

Data on your device remains until you delete the decision or uninstall the app. iCloud data remains until you delete it. A submitted email address is kept until launch updates are complete or you ask us to delete it. Text sent to Anthropic is retained by Anthropic only briefly (about 30 days) for abuse monitoring and is not used for training.

Your rights

Because your in-app data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you control it directly: delete a decision in the app, or remove the app’s iCloud data in iOS Settings. Under the GDPR you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Children

Decidd is not directed to children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date above.
